There aren't a lot of really great Chromebooks out there, but Samsung's recent Chromebook Pro and Plus come close. Excepting the keyboards, each is one of the best devices in its class to have come out in the last year. And, in what looks like some early Black Friday preparation, retailers such as Amazon, B&H, Frys, Best Buy, and even Samsung itself have marked down prices for each. Right now you can pick up the Chromebook Plus for just $349, and the Chromebook Pro for $449.

[Deal Alert] GoPro Karma with HERO5 Black is $899, with HERO6 Black $999 ($200 off)

Drones are a lot of fun, but they can also be pricey. To help alleviate that second part, Amazon is offering the GoPro Karma with either the HERO5 Black for $899 or the HERO6 Black for $999. That's a solid $200 off each bundle.

The Karma is a smaller, lightweight drone. It uses a 'Karma Stabilizer' in conjunction with whichever HERO camera you choose to produce smooth footage. It's controlled by a video game-esque controller with a touchscreen.

Android Messages v2.7 prepares to add new message indicators, RCS support for dual-SIM phones, and drops 6 MB in size [APK Teardown]

It's time for a new version of Android Messages. The latest update takes a slightly larger than average jump from v2.5 to v2.7, but no obvious changes to the UI are really popping out. However, the apk did get much smaller with this release, and there are some things visible through the lens of a teardown. We'll keep watching for other changes, but let us know if you see anything.

What's New

Unofficial Changelog: (the stuff we found)
  • Smaller APK

Smaller APK

We just saw it happen a few days ago with a Google Play Music update, and now Android Messages is following in its footsteps by eliminating the bundled micro-APK for Android Wear.

Everyone hates on Motorola for releasing a ton of phones every year, but some of these phones are actually pretty good. Case in point: David, our resident curmudgeon, loved the Moto E4 Plus. Now you can get one for as little as $119.99, depending on storage configurations and whether or not you care about Amazon ads on your phone.

The Moto E4 Plus is still a budget phone, but it has some decent specs.

Opera's Android TV browser renamed to 'Vewd Browser'

Several years ago, Opera Software spun off its TV division as a separate company, fittingly named 'Opera TV.' While the company was responsible for the various TV ports of the Opera browser, it also developed an entire software platform designed for media players, car head units, and smart TVs - similar to Roku OS and Android TV.

Opera TV was purchased by Moore Frères & Company in 2016, and in August of this year, the company announced it was rebranding itself as 'Vewd.' Now the Android TV browser, which is included on some Sony Smart TVs, has changed to 'Vewd Browser.'

The only change in the latest update is the new name, so it's still the same Opera TV browser that people know and love.
