Leaked Moto X4 images reveal a sleek black color and dual rear cameras

Motorola’s Z line of smartphones has been getting plenty of love from the Lenovo subsidiary, but the X-line has not seen a new addition since 2015. That looks to change with the upcoming Moto X4, and images obtained by Brazilian site Tudocelular seems to have confirmed what the phone will look like.

Based on the images, the Moto X4 is roughly 6.3 inches by 3.15 inches, which lends credence to previous reports of the phone’s 5.2-inch 1080p resolution display. The images also show the rumored dual rear cameras, with the camera flash above the two sensors. It is unknown what the configuration will be, but the Moto Z2 Force uses one sensor for color and the other for monochrome, so Motorola could opt for a similar setup.

Also unknown is what material that glossy back is made out of. Previous reports have pegged a metal and glass affair, though the back could be plastic to cut down on costs. Finally, and the more front-and-center observation, the images show a murdered-out black Moto X4. We have come to expect a gold variant, but if I’m being honest, the black look Motorola might be going for with the leaked images looks even nicer.

Based on previous reports, the Moto X4 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 processor and 4 GB of RAM, with the 64 GB of storage augmented by a microSD card slot. The 3,000 mAh battery should suffice for a full day of use, while the phone’s IP68 certification gives you a bit more confidence when using it at the beach or pool. A fingerprint sensor with gesture support should be found below the display, though folks will also have the option for on-screen buttons.

Finally, the Moto X4 is expected to be the first non-Nexus or Pixel phone to officially work with Google’s Project Fi.

All in all, we seem to have a more cohesive picture of what the Moto X4 will be, both inside and out. The only thing missing at this point is an official announcement from Motorola, which is expected to happen sometime before the holiday shopping season kicks off.
